Senior Software Engineer · Meta
Engineer at Meta, formerly a computational biologist — algorithms for DNA, then platforms for health, now infrastructure at scale. Two decades across telecom, research, health-tech and big tech, from Lisbon and Lyon to New York.
Before industry, there was a research career. I took a PhD in Computational Biology in 2011 — a dual award from Instituto Superior Técnico and Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1 — and spent the surrounding years as a doctoral and postdoctoral researcher in Lisbon and Lyon, working on miRNA biology and the logical modelling of gene regulatory networks.
Those years are behind me; what remains is the record, kept complete for anyone who still needs to cite it.
